The Great Egg Drop of 2003!

La Costa Canyon Physics students tested their understanding of collisions in November, as they constructed devices to successfully protect an egg dropped from the top of the David H. Thompson Performing Arts Center. Here are some photos from the festivities.

The students wait with great eggspectations.

(We apologize for that horrible pun. It does not reflect the sensibilities of the La Costa Canyon Science Department nor of the San Dieguito Union High School District. - Ed.)

Mr. Danssaert got tired of dropping things...
... so Homer took over!
The suspense builds...
... and sometimes it doesn't.
It's alive!
"S-U-C-C-E-E-S, that's the way you spell success!"
That painted egg in the center survived five drops before finally giving its last full measure in period 6.
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat...
... and the messiness of cleaning up after defeat.
