Help with GraphFit
  • Enter the labels for your datasets in the fields below "x" and "y".
  • Enter your data (up to 25 points) in the lists below the labels.
  • Click "Graph" to see the graph of your data.
  • If the graph looks linear, click "Linear Fit" to put a best-fit line on the graph and calculate the slope and y-intercept of that line.
  • If the graph does not look linear, you can transform the axes by using the pulldown menus. Try various combinations until you get a more-or-less-straight line.
  • The best-fit line may not plot properly for some very small numbers. The slope and intercept values are still valid, though.
  • To print your graph, use Page Setup and switch to "Landscape" mode. You probably also only need to print the first page; you don't need to print this help information.
  • GraphFit requires a Java- and JavaScript-capable browser. If you do not see the graph above, you may need to download the Java Virtual Machine.
